We are currently seeking the following roles:

  • Senior Associate - Corporate and Commercial

    Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for a smart and capable Corporate Lawyer with strong commercial sense to join our legal team.

    As a Senior Associate Lawyer, you will be working in an international team driving complex domestic and cross-border matters across the spectrum of practice areas although the focus will be on providing advice on Thai and International corporate, general civil and commercial matters.

    Your activities may include providing advice in relation to FinTech, RegTech, Banking & Finance, corporate law, shareholder issues, investments, other financial transactions, and all respects of the Thai regulatory framework within which our clients must operate.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for providing technically sound legal opinions and technical advice to clients;
    • Support senior staff by providing technically sound legal advice directly to clients with appropriate supervision;
    • Manage ‘work in progress’ in accordance with business standards;
    • Responsible for the quality of client services and advice;
    • Responsible for building and maintaining productive working relationships with clients and staff alike;
    • Expected to contribute to the mentoring of other junior and paralegal staff;
    • Responsible for ensuring effective management of time, effort and resources in order to generate maximum efficiencies;
    • Expected to make a constructive contribution to the non-chargeable activities at Silk Legal.

    Competencies

    • Qualified Thai Lawyer with 5 + years post qualification experience;
    • Excellent academic background from a Top 5 Thai University;
    • 2 to 3 years of experience within a Leading Thai or multinational Firm;
    • Must be detail oriented and organized;
    • Must possess good analytical skills;
    • Must have excellent customer service skills;
    • Must have good verbal and written communication skills in Thai and English (English at IELTS Band 7 or above);
    • Must be familiar with and have experience with modern computerised practice management systems;
    • Foreign qualifications and/or LLM is desirable.

    • Build commercial awareness and share knowledge and relevant new information with your Colleagues in weekly associate meetings;

  • Associate Lawyer

    Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for a smart and capable Corporate Lawyer with strong commercial sense to join our legal team. 

    As an Associate Lawyer, you will be working in an international team driving complex domestic and cross-border matters. Your work will include, but not be limited to areas of corporate commercial, fintech, crypto, bankruptcy and restructuring and other practice groups the firm is engaged in.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting proposed and existing laws, statutes, and regulations.
    • Identifying, evaluating, and addressing issues of legal risks.
    • Drafting, negotiating and/or approving legal contracts, letters of agreement and other documents relating to a variety of trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters.
    • Managing ‘work in progress’ in accordance with business standards;
    • Maintaining productive working relationships with clients and staff alike;
    • Ensuring effective management of time, effort, and resources to generate maximum efficiencies.

    QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:

    • 5+ years of experience within a Leading Thai or multinational Legal Firm;
    • Qualified Thai Lawyer with 5 + years post qualification experience.
    • Excellent academic background from a Tier 1 University.
    • Detail oriented and well organized.
    • Possess good analytical skills.
    • Proactive mindset and excellent customer service skills.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills in Thai and English (English at IELTS Band 7 or above).
    • Be familiar with and have experience with modern computerized practice management systems.
    • Ability to spot, identify and follow through business development opportunities.
    • Build productive and strong relationships both internally and externally.
    • Foreign qualifications and/or LLM are desirable.

    • Expected to make a constructive contribution to the non-chargeable activities at Silk Legal.
    • Must be fair, honest, and trustworthy in all dealings.
    • Able to perform independently under pressure with timely supervision.
